Garden District
After the Louisiana Purchase, the Garden District was one of the first neighborhoods to be developed. The name for this area of New Orleans comes from the beautiful, large gardens found throughout. The Garden District is found near the Central Business District and it borders Uptown, as well.
Today, the Garden Distrct is most-known for the amazing historic mansions. Many southern-style mansions with incredible architecture are found throughout the area. The neighborhood shows off Victoria, Italianate and Classic Greek Revival styles and attracts many visitors every single year.
